Five Most Entertaining Christmas Distractions this Holiday Season

Want to get off-campus and enjoy all the festive Holiday events going on around you in Kansas City? Go take a study break and enjoy these fun Holiday-themed events and decorations!

1.) Santa’s Gingerbread Village at the Crown Center
This is the perfect family activity; a locomotive with Santa pulls through a Gingerbread Village created by world-class chefs!

2.) The Mayor’s Christmas Tree
The 100-foot-tall Mayor’s Christmas Tree, one of the nation’s tallest, is the centerpiece for an illuminating holiday celebration. The tree is a symbol of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, which is dedicated to assisting the city’s less fortunate.

3.) The Kansas City Ballet Presents the Nutracker
Todd Bolender’s “The Nutracker” is a magical, beautiful show that will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit! From the graceful dancing to the amazing costumes and sets to the acclaimed Kansas City Symphony playing Tchaikovsky’s wondrous music, you’re sure to enjoy the show. You won’t want to miss this holiday classic at the Kauffman Center.

4.) KC Live! Ugly Sweater Bar Crawl Benefitting Toys for Tots
Break out the ugly sweater from the attic on Saturday, December 7th, and get into the Christmas spirit while benefiting Toys for Tots and enjoying a night out with friends! The following bars are participating: Angels Rock Bar, PBR Big Sky, Hotel Nightclub, Howl at the Moon, Mosaic Lounge, Shark Bar, Maker’s Mark Bourbon House and Amp, Lounge, Pizza bar, Living Room Bar, FUEGO, Tengo Sed Cantina, McFadden’s Sports Saloon, the Dubliner and Johnny’s Tavern.

5.) Kansas City Live! New Year’s Eve Party
This year’s party package features top-shelf cocktails and amp, beers from 9 pm-1am, a countdown and ball drop at Midnight with a champagne toast, party favors, confetti cannons, and more! The KC Live! Block is an incredible venue with a mix of indoor and outdoor space in the heart of downtown Kansas City.
